Winfred "Gene" Thorburn, 67, Retired Army Sgt. and Cessna Aircraft Mechanic, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Winfred Elmer Thorburn and Marian Richardson; brother, James Allen; and great-grandson, David Ray Hancock. Survivors include his wife, Jody Thorburn; step-mother, Mary Thorburn; children, Christopher Thorburn, Darrin Thorburn (Vikki), and Kimberly Keplar; siblings, Ruth Ellis, Bobby Thorburn (Monica), Lois Goodwin (Mike), and Janet Fortier; numerous step-children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family Visitation, 6-8 pm, Friday, June 8 and Funeral Service, 10 am, Saturday, June 9, both at Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway. Memorials to: Wounded Warrior Project.
