William A. (Bill) Siebert, 87, passed away on October 15, 2024 in Wichita, KS. He was predeceased by his parents, William A. and Jean (Morgan) Siebert, his sister, Joan Faulkner, and two wives: Susan (Rasher) Shuman and Marilyn (Robb) Siebert.
Bill was born in Oakland, California and lived in the bay area until coming to Kansas to attend Kansas State University. He graduated in 1961 and moved back to California for a while. He was in the banking business while in California. He subsequently returned to Kansas to begin his sales career. First in the feed business, then insurance.
Bill and his wife, Marilyn, moved to Wichita where he got into financial and estate planning and had a company called Charitable Strategies. He and his wife eventually moved to Topeka and joined the First United Methodist Church. It was there he had a call to Ministry. He was a pastor in Kansas and Missouri until 2019 when he moved back to Kansas to be closer to his family.
Bill was honorably discharged from the Army Reserve. He was always very active in the communities where he lived. He was member and president of American Business Clubs (a civic organization); member and president of Lions Clubs International; member and past president of the Salina Life Underwriters Association; and member and past president of Chartered Financial Consultants of Salina. He was on the board of the Kansas Life Underwriters Association, the Benton County Community Foundation, and the Salina Chamber of Commerce. He was Chaplain of the Lake View Fire Department and Chaplain of the Benton County Hospice. In his early years while living in Salina, he was Administrative Director of the Salina Silver Sabres Drum and Bugle Corps. Bill and his wife Marilyn attended East Heights United Methodist Church until their move to Topeka. Most recently he attended Central Christian Church. Bill had a servant heart and volunteered for many organizations until his passing.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Cindy Goldsmith (Tom); son, Scott Siebert; granddaughter, Claire Moore (Spenc); grandsons, Graham Krizek (Grace) and Cole Krizek (Colleen); stepson, Charles Robb; stepdaughter, Angie Potter (Mike); and great grandchildren, Sage, Rynn, Sutton, Fern, and Jensen.
There will be a memorial service at Cozine Life Events Center, 11500 E. 21st St, Wichita Kansas on Saturday, November 23 at 10:30 am. Bill’s cremated remains will be taken to Boonville, Missouri to be buried next to his wife, Marilyn in Spring of 2025.
