Webb, Virginia “Ginny” E., 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2016 after a battle with COPD and congestive heart failure. She was at home with family and friends at her side. She was born May 9, 1926 in Conway Springs, KS to Vernon and Bertha Thomas. She lived most of her life in her childhood home on West 13th St. in Wichita. Despite having polio as a child, she worked until retirement. Besides working for the Post Office and Boeing, she had a successful gift and collectible business, “Ginny’s Goodies,” in front of her home in the building where her father operated one of Wichita’s first dairies in the 1930’s. With her husband, she helped run “Webb’s Christmas Tree Lane” at their home for 45 years. She was an active member of Faith United Church of Christ for over 50 years until its closing in 2013. She was also an active member and served as treasurer for the Wichita Post-Polio Support group. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Claude Butterfield and William C. Webb, brothers Charles and Ray Thomas, daughters Charlotte Eggleston and Brenda Miller, and grandson Jason Dunegan. Survivors include son Tommy “Wayne” Butterfield and wife Luisa; daughters Barbara Rollings and husband Dave, and Tonya Webb, and son-in-law Roger Miller, all of Wichita; grandchildren Russ and Tammy Freiling of San Antonio, TX, Eric and Trish Butterfield of Montgomery, AL, Krystal and Travis Wells of Gardner, Ks, Tisha and Matt Lowery of Vero Beach, Fl., Kia, Jona, and Marlyn Butterfield, Charlotte Land, Heather Preston, Lindsey and Brandon Rogers, Michelle and Chad McAsey and Christy Rollings, all of Wichita; great grandchildren Garrett, Gracyn, Griffin, Matthias, Kian, Skylar, Ashlyn, Braden, Adrianna, Alaina, Axten, Jaelynn, Joshua, Ethan, Jason, Brittany, Briley, Lilly, Kinsley, Olivia, Aspen, Hunter, Kelby. Visitation with family will be Sunday August 21st , 5 -7 PM. Services will be held at 2 pm, Monday, August 22nd at Broadway Mortuary with interment following at Jamesburg Park cemetery. A memorial has been established with Good Shepherd Hospice of Wichita who provided kind and considerate care for Ginny until after final goodbyes were made.
