Terry Pennington, 67, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020. Survivors include her daughter, Cathryn Monroe (Robert); step-son, Trevor Baker; grandchildren, Elodie and Orion Monroe, and Adam Baker. She was preceded in death by her sons, Andrew Witt and Christopher Spivey; and her parents. Of the many roles she took on in life, the one she excelled at most was "mom." Whether she was "step mom", "bonus mom", "nana", or simply "mother," she welcomed everyone into her home with an open heart. There were always snacks, a hot pot of coffee, and if you were lucky she might even share her Dr. Pepper. She was giving and kind, always willing to listen and offer advice, and sometimes encourage her childrens' crazy antics.
She was fierce and funny, a constant source of joy and laughter. Her strong spirit was an inspiration to everyone she chose to call family- and that was just about everyone she met. Her capacity for love was boundless. Her big heart, generosity, and wild streak will live on in all her girls and grandsons.
She was no stranger to loss and hardship but it never showed; she knew how to love big, fight hard, and have grace. She gave all she had to those she loved and rarely treated herself. She will be remembered for her silly pranks, her words of wisdom, her resilience, and most of all, her unconditional love.
We find comfort in knowing she will be with her two sons, where she will continue to laugh and play, undoubtedly sharing a dance or two, keeping her spirit alive and ready to welcome us home someday.
