Olson, Terry R., passed away April 5, 2016. Memorial Mass will be 10:30 am, Saturday, April 16 at Christ the King Catholic Church. He was born November 9, 1945 in Hutchinson, KS to Ray A. and Roberta June Olson. Terry was raised in Pratt, KS and was a graduate of Pratt High in 1964 and Pratt Community College in 1966. He attended Ft. Hays State College and California State Long Beach, majoring in history and education. Terry was a teacher, became a principal and administrator, and was employed by the State of Kansas Insurance Commission and then worked in insurance sales for a few years. He continued his education, focusing on special education and later became focused on psychology and criminal thinking. He and his wife Kathy traveled to Hong Kong as missionaries and later worked in boys homes in Kansas and Missouri. Terry received his Master of Arts in Special Education from Oklahoma City University. Terry provided counseling and therapy services for many years to adolescents and adults in Kansas, Oklahoma, Ohio, Wisconsin, California and Missouri. Terry retired in 2007 due to health issues. He and his wife Kathy lived in Anchorage, AK where she worked to provide support to the homeless. Terry returned to Kansas in May 2014. He had a passion for history, travel, art and painting.
