Terry Fillenworth

Terrance Lee Fillenworth, 75, passed away Friday, December 6, 2024. Visitation will be from 6-8pm, Friday, December 13th, at Broadway Mortuary. Service celebrating Terry’s life will begin at 1:00pm, Saturday, December 14th, at Word of Life Church 915 E. 53rd St N Park City,KS. Interment will follow at White Chapel Cemetery. Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Adena Fillenworth. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Karen Fillenworth; son and daughter-in-law, Jesse and Amber Fillenworth; daughter and son-in-law, Aleah Fillenworth and Tyler Collier; sisters, Debbie Christie and Annette Sirriana; and grandchildren, Wyatt Fillenworth, Ace Fillenworth, Evelyn Fillenworth, and Adilyn Collier.

Terry was born in Detroit, MI aka Motor City. This is where his love of classic cars began. Terry could tell you what year a car was just by seeing a taillight. He owned many muscle cars over the years and told a story of a ‘56 Chevy that he got by trading his Bicycle and a stereo.

Terry also loved to cook. He was a professional chef for over 20 years and would get great joy from feeding people. He would cook for any group, anywhere , anytime. He cooked for campouts, pancake feeds, summer camps, Young adult and Youth services, and at Life Prep Academy.

Terry also loved to fish. He would wake his son Jesse up at the butt-crack of dawn to get out on the water while it was perfectly still. He would say “The lake is like glass…”

His greatest love though was his family. He would move heaven and earth to be there for every weekend campout, Drag-race and swim meet. Just to be present and support his kids.

Something that EVERYONE will remember though, was his smile. It was wide open, goofy and infectious. His smile could light up a room and make a perfect stranger feel welcome.

Terry loved the Lord and surrendered his life to Jesus in Word of life church while he was working the soundbooth. Later his son Jesse had the great honor of Baptising him here at the Church.

Terry was a good man and he deserves every it of praise and fond memories we have to give.

We all know Terry loved to talk but thats the Heaven’s problem now, I’m sure Terry is talking some angels ear off as we speak.
