Susan Henrion

Susan Henrion of Wichita, Kansas passed on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the age of 68. She is survived by her loving Husband, Mark Henrion, her sister, Janie Grogg, and an immeasurable number of family and friends who care deeply for her. She was the true definition of devoted wife and loyal friend, graceful in her dealings with people, situations, and the world around her.

Susie spent her early childhood in Ottumwa, Iowa before moving to Kansas. She received a BA in Applied Science and Social Work at Wichita State University. She met and fell in love with Mark while working at the Institute of Logopedics and Phyllis Wheatley Children’s Home. She was attracted to an opportunity in sales and became an expert in all kinds of appliances. She was straightforward, efficient, funny, kind and very successful in business and life. She had a passion for arts and crafts starting with the creation of beautiful stained-glass pieces and later started her own business, Susan’s Stitch-in-Time, making fun dolls, stuffed animals, and quilts of her own design. She and Mark shared a love of animals which kept them continuously supplied with beloved dogs and cats at home and zoos to visit in their travels.

Susie and Mark were married in 1983. Over the years, she looked after Mark in every way and was steadfast in his happiness. Their love for each other was apparent to all. She will be profoundly missed.
