Stanley D. McGee

Stanley Dean McGee, 84, of Wichita, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024. He was born November 21, 1940 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. He attended school in Berryhill, OK, Miami, OK, and Tahlequah, OK. He also attended WSU where he obtained his Masters Degree in Administration. 

He met his wife Dixie in the Summer of 1961. They were married two days shy of 61 years. Stan moved to Wichita in 1963 where he was first a school teacher, then six years later became a Principal for the Wichita Public Schools. He retired from USD 259 in 2000, and enjoyed traveling, playing golf, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Dixie McGee,; daughter, Kelli Clites (Billy); son, Kyle McGee; three granddaughters, Rachel Jackson (Donald), Sarah Culver, and Emily Culver; and seven great-grandchildren, all of Wichita, KS; and one brother, James Norman McGee, of Norfolk, VA. Mr. McGee was preceded in death by his parents, James Leonard McGee and Blanche Elizabeth McGee; three brothers and four sisters.

Viewing hours will be from 5-7 pm, Friday, December 27, and Celebration of Life Service, 12:00 pm, Saturday, December 28, both at Cozine Life Events Center, 11500 E. 21st St. N.
