Banks, L. Scott , 62, passed away June 13, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, June 20, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Scott was born on October 9, 1955 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Lee and Carlene (Olson) Banks. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1977 with a bachelor of science in Geology. He joined Banks Oil with his father Lee, developing Oil and Gas reserves in Kansas for 13 years before forming a partnership with Kevin Davis creating Red Oak Energy in 1990 and Banks Resources in 2012. Scott developed an exploration geology expertise, successfully discovering multiple oil and gas fields in far western Kansas. Scott was an accomplished athlete and passionate golfer, basketball and state champion high school as well as collegiate baseball player. Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Carlene Banks. He is survived by his wife, Michele Banks; daughters, Carly Banks and Olivia Banks (and their mother, Beth Banks); son, Jack Banks; step-son, Matthew Wilson; father, Lee Banks; brother, Todd (Cindy) Banks; sister, Dr. RoxAnn Banks Dicker and his loving nieces and nephews.
