Rose, Ruth Elaine, 70, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015. Ruth was born on May 17, 1945, the daughter of Mennonite parents in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After moving to Kansas with her parents, her early years were spent in the Harvey County area. After moving to Wichita, she graduated from Wichita East High School in 1963. She then married Lawrence Adams, and to that union two children were born, Shana and Ryan Adams. Lawrence preceded her in death in 1993. In 2002, she married Alvin C. Rose. Ruth was active in advocacy for the differently abled and enjoyed writing poetry, reading, and a variety of crafting activities. Known for her love of genealogy, scrapbooking, simple wisdom, and her nearly perfect memory for names, dates, places, and family, she was revered by all who came to know and love her. Ruth is survived by her husband, Alvin Rose; children, Shana and Ryan Adams; sister, Helen Papageorgiou (George); step-children, Janet Barton (Tracy) and Kristin Njoroge (Mat); grandchildren, Gage Owen Barton, Gabriel Jordan Barton, and Anne Njoroge; one great-grandchild; numerous relatives and friends.
