Roy George

George, Roy L., 53, was born January 3, 1963 in Newton, Kansas and passed away Monday, September 5, 2016. Roy had four brothers and two sisters. He went to Roosevelt Elementary from Kindergarten to 4th grade, attended Chisolm Middle School from 5th grade to the 8th grade, and graduated from Newton High School. After his schooling, Roy went to Business School in Colorado and then returned home, settling in Wichita. He worked at Chi Chi’s for a few years then got on at Sedgwick Healthcare Center. He worked there for 15 years or more as a cook. He retired this last January due to his health. He has two very special sets of friends, Tom and Deb and Shawn and Edna. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Fogel and father, Thomas George; brother, Lester George; and nephew, Lewis Sisson. Survivors include Ruth Kelly of Topeka; nephew, Larry Boden, Jr. (Debra) of Wichita; Glen George (Sharon) of Lehigh; niece, Cherry Miller of Hillsboro; niece, Joyce Thrash of Bentley; nephew, Thomas George (Christy) of California; brother, Terry George (Jessica) of Wichita; brother, Melvin George; sister, Karen Sisson; and nieces, Linda Srader and Hazel Sisson of Halstead. Roy belonged to College Hill United Methodist Church in Wichita.
