Ronald G. “Ron” Ogden, 81, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 pm, Saturday, Oct. 15, at Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway.
Ron was born October 14, 1940, in Miami, AZ, and after a few years, his family moved to Wichita, KS, where he grew up. Ron graduated from West High School and then joined the Navy where he was stationed in San Diego, CA.
Ron spent the majority of his career as an Air Traffic Control Specialist with the FAA at Mid-Continent Airport. His position gave general aviation pilots weather briefings, and he filed their flight plans. He was also a licensed pilot.
Some of Ron’s interests were the weather, magic, burning music on CD’s, and navigating the world wide web in the early years. He loved his cats, and they gave him great enjoyment over the years. Ron was a known prankster and had a great sense of humor which he passed on to his sons.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Jean K. Ogden; parents, George and Neva Ogden; brother, Jim Ogden and step-son, Monte Hensley. Survivors include his sons, Marv Ogden (Jackee), Tim Ogden, and Mike Ogden (Mary); and stepdaughter, Elizabeth Tanner (Rick). Memorials to: The Kansas Humane Society.
