Roger Sherwood

Roger Sherwood, 84, died on July 20, 2021. He was born in Wichita on Sept. 25, 1936, to F.M. & Madge Sherwood. He graduated from North High in 1954, and married Nancy Jo Brazill on July 1, 1956.  After graduating from Wichita State University, he attended Washburn University School of Law, and received a J.D. in May, 1964.  He began his law career at Kahrs, Nelson, Fanning, and Hite, and opened his own law firm in spring 1972.

He generously served his community in his church, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, American Red Cross, Goddard School Board, Wichita Bar Association, Salvation Army, Cosmopolitan Club, and many other organizations.  He was a loyal fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Shocker Athletics and an avid classic and antique car lover.

He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, both parents, and sister Kay Sherwood Roskam. Roger is survived by brothers, Howard (Patricia) Sherwood and John (Helen) Sherwood; four daughters:  Cindy Sherwood and Julie Sherwood, both of Wichita; Sally (Rick) Reynolds, Overland Park; and Amy (Bob) Ritchie, Waxahachie, TX; ten grandchildren: Jimmy, Katie, Kevin, Kyle, Robin, Rachel, August, Melanie, Stephanie, and Tanner; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation with family present will be held from 2-4 pm, Sunday, July 25, at Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway. Funeral service, 10:30 am, Monday, July 26, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 N. Greenwich Rd. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 1:30 pm.
