Robert W. Dick "Bob", passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016, at 86 years of age. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Dick, after 37 loving years and by his second wife, Ange Dick, after another 19 wonderful years. He is survived by two sons, John R. Dick (Linda) and James L. Dick (Mary); a step-son, Robert A. Dick (Heather); two granddaughters, Angela Simmons and Danette Cobb; a great-grandson, Patrick Simmons; two great-granddaughters, Alexandra Pierce and Kaitlyn Burnam; as well as three step-grandchildren, Jesse, Drew, and Chas; and cousin, Linda Klepper. Born on February 25, 1930, to Walter and Iva Dick in Inglewood, CO. He graduated from Joplin High School in 1948. During his high school career, he played football as a kicker, was Master of Ceremonies in talent shows and coached tennis in the summer months. In 1951, he married the love of his life, Marlene McCune, and they began a life together. In 1952, they welcomed their first son, John R. Dick, and in 1956 were blessed with their second son, James L. Dick. During this time, Bob served in the US Army as an Artillery Field Observe Trainer. After an Honorable Discharge, he worked in aircraft manufacturing until finding his place at the US Postal Service, retiring after 28 years. Bob was also a Boy Scout Master, mentoring and guiding young men into young gentlemen. As his boys grew older and into new interests, he grew right along with them; eventually coaching baseball to encourage his boys to strive for excellence. To keep the love and fun alive in his marriage, Bob loved taking both his first and second wife square dancing and round dancing. They enjoyed taking trips around the US in dancing conventions and earned many ribbons and medals. He was also the Wichita State Ballroom and Dance instructor. His love of dancing trickled down to his granddaughter Danette, teaching her to waltz all around the living room. Bob was a lover of food, family, Christmas, jokes, dancing, teasing his loved ones and dogs named George. He lived his life believing and teaching along the way that persistent work, chivalry, honesty and a true want inside your heart to be a good person will make a great man.
