Bryant, Rexine H., 74, Ordained United Methodist Minister passed away peacefully surrounded by her children. In her service as a pastor, from 1985 through 1996 she faithfully served the working poor. She served at Brookside United Methodist Church where she discovered her passion of providing healthcare to the disenfranchised community of Plainview. During her time at Brookside, she actively identified a need in the community for healthcare services for those she called the “working poor”. She petitioned and campaigned for funding. She worked tirelessly to actualize the building and establishment of a healthcare clinic at Brookside United Methodist Church to serve the community of Plainview. She was also quite proud of her acceptance into the Order of the Masons in Florida. Memorial service will be 10:00 am, Wednesday at Broadway Mortuary. Husband Robert Gordon Bryant; and brother Chester Robert Hall preceded her in death. Survivors include children, Susan (Michael) Smith, Rebecca Bryant-Coleman. Brenda (Bill) Politte and Robert Franklin Bryant; Sister, Pam Bryant Osborn (Jim); Grandchildren, Autumn (Chris), Forest, Philip (Sylvia), April, Cameron, Billy, Suzie (Lauren) and Shannon; 7 great-grandchildren, a nephew and numerous dear friends.
