Rex Shoemaker

Rex L. Shoemaker, 70, passed away on September 13, 2022. Rex spent his career with Entergy, where he was a master of all things maintenance, but was especially gifted at welding. While with Entergy, Rex also spent time on the company's emergency response team. Memorial service for Rex will be at 1:00, Saturday, September 17, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Rex is preceded in death by his parents, Burl and Tevis Shoemaker. He is survived by the love of his life, Jeanne Shoemaker, whom he met in 7th grade math class at El Dorado Junior High School. Jeanne and Rex reconnected at their 45th class reunion and were later married on September 16, 2016. Rex is also survived by son, Jesse Shoemaker; daughter, Shana (Kevin) Ring; mother-in-law, Eva Jo Luck; brothers-in-law, Ric (Debbie) Luck, and Jim (Rhonda) Luck; grandchildren, Alivia McAnally, Sean McAnally, Taryn Shoemaker, Maysun Ring, Adalyn Ring, and Ryker Ring. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with the Union Rescue Mission, and the Kansas Humane Society.
