Don Scott was born in Kansas City on November 22, 1927.
His father, A.W. Scott, and mother, Dorothy Jane, had four boys and one girl. In 1930, their family moved to Oklahoma City where he started Scott Printing Co. At the age of 14, Don began working with his dad in the printing business,
In 1937, at the age of 10, Don accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour and was baptized in the Northwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Classen High School and Oklahoma City University, where he received the school's Journalism Award.
While in college and before he married his wife, Patricia, he made an appointment one Wednesday evening to visit with Reverand C.B. Wilson, a friend and Methodist ministerial student at Oklahoma City University. After visiting with him about his life, Don prayed and felt led by the Lord to enter the ministry. Patricia had previously given her life for special service. They were married February 4, 1949
For nine years he ministered to people in jail.
He was licensed to preach at the Fortieth Street Baptist, and ordained to the ministry when called as pastor to the Walnut Grove Baptist Church in 1949. Don published the Northwest News in Warr Acres, Oklahoma. He attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
Don served several churches in Oklahoma before moving his family to Kansas. He served as pastor of First Southern Baptist Church in Arkansas City, First Southern Baptist Church of Augusta, and served as associate pastor and interim pastor at Metropolitan Baptist Church, North Hillside Baptist and King's Highway Baptist Churches.

Dr Randy Scott and his wife Eileen of Los Altos Hills, California
While in college Don was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was Direcctor of Oklahoma City Youth for Christ, served on the Foundation Board and Church Loan Association of the Kansas-Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists.
His goal was to continue sharing Christ and minister to the hearts of people. It was his desire to help others to become conscious and aware of the presence of the Heavenly Father and to communicate His word. As a Chaplain, Don believed this would best be accomplished in a most effective way.
Don Scott's ministry has served churches of only 30 members up to a church of 2400 members. He has preached in the jails, on skid row, youth rallies, schools, colleges, and with all classes and races of people. During his chaplaincy, he counseled with hundreds of people.
