Rachel Nation

Rachel Mae Stoddard was born November 18, 1988, in Hillsboro, Oregon, to Kirk and Angela (Rossiter) Stoddard. She peacefully entered into eternal rest surrounded by loved ones on May 24, 2023, in Wichita, Kansas. Rachel Mae was the fifth generation of first born daughters, all with the middle name “Mae”. She was a fiery, strong-willed child full of personality who grew into a beautiful sister in the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. Rachel was baptized into the faith by her grandfather Clifford Rossiter on July 28, 2002 in Big Elk Creek, Idaho. She graduated from Redmond High School in Redmond, Oregon, in 2006. As an adult Rachel maintained a strong, independent sense of self, but always lived in service of the Lord. On September 1, 2012, she married Eric Nation in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and together they loved to travel, spend time outdoors, play card games, and visit congregations and friends across the country.

Rachel’s big heart was always on display as she made it a point to faithfully send cards for birthdays, anniversaries, and other holidays. She loved being an Auntie to her nephews and her niece, spoiling them every chance she had. Even when she was not close by, Rachel planned coffee dates over video chat with her sister and others. She loved to quilt, crochet, paint, craft and would always find ways to nurture others. She will be remembered for her no-filter attitude, quick-witted sarcasm, kind heart, and unconditional love for her family and friends. Her smile and laugh will be greatly missed. Rachel was preceded in death by her grandfather Elmer Stoddard and her grandmother Glenda Rossiter. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Eric Nation, parents Kirk and Angela Stoddard, sister Hannah (Kyren) Fernandez, father and mother-in-law Dick and Linda Nation, Sister-in-law Audria (Doug) Ausbern, brother-in-law Nathanael Nation, grandfather Clifford Rossiter, grandparents Dan and Glennis Easter, Grandmother-in-law Jo Ann Nation, nieces and nephews Aiden, Amiya, and Asher Fernandez; Talon and Weston Ausbern; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, brethren and friends.
