Hill, Pansy Marie (Sackett), 82, was born on a small farm just outside of Fort Scott, KS, called Greenfield Place. As a child there was no TV, so she played with her dolls, read books and played the game checkers. She worked hard on the farm as they baled hay and tended to farm animals. She shared a bedroom with two of her sisters with a view of the garden and yard. They didn’t have a car so the neighbors would take them to church, this is where she fell in love with Jesus and became one of His. At the age of 16, she moved to Kansas City to finish her schooling at the Christian Bible College. After schooling she moved to Wichita and while working at Boeing, met and married the love of her life, Bill Hill. They married in 1955 and shared 58 beautiful years together. A love story come true, they had five children. This is when she realized she could not do life on her own strength, so she rededicated her life to serve Christ the rest of her life and was baptized. You would see her often sitting on the couch reading her bible. Her life was about serving others, at church and at home. Every Sunday after church, she would have roast and mashed potatoes for her family to eat. She sewed clothes for her family and after a long day would tuck her children in bed at night and say bedtime prayers with them. She loved to go on weekend trips, vacations and later in life, traveling with Bill. She loved being a grandma, and a great-grandma. She enjoyed going to the symphony, plays and movies with them. She loved being together at birthdays and holidays. After the death of her husband Bill in 2014, she enjoyed scooter rides with her family and listening to music. But life was never the same for her. She missed Bill every day. Her body became frail and tired and on January 11, 2016, after passing in the early morning hours, she reunited with Bill and got to see her first love, Jesus Christ, for the first time in heaven. She was a precious child of God, a faithful follower of Christ and a prayer warrior for her family. She had a humble heart, and a beautiful soul that displayed the fruits of the Spirit. Her children rise up and call her blessed. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill; parents, Clarence and Mary Sackett; sister, Betty; grandchild, Sarah; and great-grandchild, Christopher.
