Phillips, Marvin “Neil”, 86, after a one month illness, went to be with Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior on Jan. 8, 2016. Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Tuesday at Broadway Mortuary with Funeral Services 1:30 pm, Wednesday, at First Evangelical Free Church. Neil was born Nov. 11, 1929 in Homer, NE. He married Wilma Barker Aug. 16, 1953. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Dorothy Phillips; son, Brad; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Binford Phillips. Survivors include his loving wife, Wilma; sons, Larry (Julie) Phillips and Dennis (Lori) Phillips; and grandchildren, Kayla, Mike (Elizabeth), Rebecca, Jacob, Charlie, and Gracie. Neil served in the U.S. Navy onboard the USS LSMR 515 from June 1948- May 1952. He worked in the natural gas industry for 40 years starting in Ft. Stockton, TX and transferring to Bushton, KS Northern Gas Products (Enron) plant, retiring in 1994. He lived in Lyons, KS (1961-1996) then moved to Wichita, KS in 1996.Neil attended First Evangelical Free Church of Wichita since 1996. In lieu of flowers, memorials to: First Evangelical Free Church.
