Michael Cremin

Michael Francis Cremin, of Wichita, KS, died at his home on Thursday, March 10, 2016. "Mickey" Cremin was born to Margaret (Halpine) and James Cremin, Sr., on July 3, 1938, in Tulsa, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Cathryn Cremin McCain; his brothers-in-law: Gene McCain and Mike Donahue; his sister-in-law, Edna Ruth Cremin; and his nephews: Timothy Sean McCain and Brian O'Day Cremin. He is survived by his wife, Tommie Ruth (Harris) Cremin; his siblings: James "Baldy" Cremin, Jr., J. Patrick and Margie Cremin, Christopher John and CeCe Cremin, Margaret Loretta "Peggy" Cremin Donahue, Kevin O'Day and Margaret Cremin; his children: Jonathan Douglas Cremin and wife, Kendra, Michael Thomas Cremin, Patrick Wallace Cremin, and Carolyn Ruth Cremin; his grandchildren: Avery Simone Gonzales-Cremin, Lukas Alvin Cremin, Sophia Ruth Cremin, and Hannah Ruth Kornblatt; his great-granddaughter, Jesse Ruth Kornblatt. Michael graduated from Tulsa's Holy Family High School in 1956 and attended Benedictine Heights College for a year. In 1957, he joined the United States Navy, serving on the USS Independence, with an honorable discharge in 1961, rank of Petty Officer Second Class. In 1965, he graduated from Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, OK. In 1977, he graduated from the University of Tulsa Law School, passing the Oklahoma State Bar that same year. Michael began his career at Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville in 1966 and worked at BP Amoco in Tulsa and Houston from 1970 until his retirement in 1996. In 2011, Michael and Tommie moved to Wichita, KS, into a house next door to Jon and Kendra to be closer to their grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 124 N. Roosevelt, Wichita, KS, at 11:00 am, on Saturday, March 19; the burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
