Michael Bane, Jr.

Michael Lawrence Bane Jr., 50, of Discovery Bay, CA, passed away on Sunday, August 4th, 2024. He was born September 6, 1973, in Illinois, the son of Michael Bane Sr. and Brenda (Hawkins) Bane.
He met Jessica Bane at UPS in Lenexa, KS fall of 2005 and they married on April 23rd, 2011, in Branson, MO.
Remaining to cherish Michael’s memory are his wife, Jessica Bane; sons, Michael Bane III and Rory Bane; parents, Michael Bane Sr. and Brenda Bane; brothers, Matt Bane and Frank (Danyelle) Routson; sister, Melissa (Nate) Slinker; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved and cherished.
Michael grew up in Southern California and graduated from Bloomington High School in 1991. Upon graduation Michael served 6 years in the United States Navy, he trained in the Nuclear Power School as a Nuclear Technician and received many awards until he was honorably discharged.
Michael worked at UPS for 26 years in the Building and Systems Engineering department where he most recently held the position of Director for the Northwest and North California districts. Throughout his career Michael developed and mentored many UPSer’s in the maintenance of facilities and management of projects. He loved the professional challenges, the people, and the environment of UPS.
Michael enjoyed many activities, however, his favorite time spent was with his boys.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 2:00pm at Greenwood Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Westside Family Church in Lenexa, KS on Monday, August 19, 2024, at 10:00 am CT and it will be live streamed.
