Maynard Davis

Davis, Maynard E., retired Powell Body Shop body mechanic, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016. Maynard was born on January 12, 1923 in Riley County, KS to Golda and Ivan Davis. He graduated from Sabetha High School in 1941. He served 3 years in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He married Helen Watkins on May 31, 1947 and moved to Wichita, KS in 1953. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years; parents; brother, Donald Davis; and sister, Marjorie Wright. Maynard is survived by his son, Jim “Fritz” Davis (Kerry) of Red River, NM; his daughters, Terri Rose (Bill) and Carolyn Davis all of Wichita; special nieces, Debbie Ramsey and Sharon Slatinsky; special nephews, Stephen Davis and Chuck Davis; a step-grandson; two step-granddaughters; a step-great-great-granddaughter; and many other nieces and nephews. Visitation with family present will be from 5:30-8pm, Monday, August 8, at Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway. Graveside Services, 11 am, Tuesday, August 9, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Severance, KS.
