Mary Ruth

Ruth, Mary (Marti) Tola Slater, age 79, died peacefully at her home in Eastborough, KS, on Thursday, January 5th, 2017 following a prolonged illness. Born on April 1, 1937 in Des Moines, IA. Her parents were the late, Elizabeth Beldora Flaugher Smith and Joseph Michael Slater. Survivors include her husband, Richard Lee Ruth, her children Terri, Richard and Daniel. Her sister Terry Klapperich, her brothers, Ralph, Rocke and Shane Smith and her grandchildren William, Andrew, Kathryn, Amy, Amberlyn and Krystal. Rosary service to be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 with Funeral Mass to be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017, both at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 124 N. Roosevelt, Wichita, KS. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the local pit bull rescue Beauties and Beasts at www.beautiesandbeasts.org. Service by Broadway Mortuary.
