Marvin L. Schoonover, 69, loving husband, father, and Pa, passed away at his home in Park City, Kansas on February 19, 2021 surrounded by his family. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 24th at the First Southern Baptist Church, 138 E. Kansas Ave., Arkansas City, KS. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Riverview Cemetery. To protect those at high risk and those unable to be vaccinated, the family respectfully requests masks be worn for the service. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Helen Schoonover; and sister, Carolyn Epp. Survivors include his loving wife, Jody Schoonover; daughter, Chasity Schoonover; granddaughter, Sophie Schoonover; son, Shane (Justin) Stuhlsatz; and sister, Jan (Ray) Crawford. Marvin graduated from Arkansas City High School in the class of 1969. He proudly served his country as an RM2 radio operator aboard the USS Albany during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the service, he had a career in the printing industry, ending at DeVore and Sons Bible Publishing Co. Marvin was a licensed minister who attended and pastored a number of Southern Baptist churches in his life. Additionally, he was a member of the Pied Typers Club, and held numerous vocational honors and certificates. Throughout his life, he had a passion for music, woodworking, played softball, enjoyed watching college basketball, NFL Football, and NASCAR racing.
