Martha Sinclair

Martha Estelle Reed Sinclair died April 18, 2019, in Wichita, KS. She was born Nov. 25, 1926, to Rev. Charlie Rufus and Mary Docia Rainey Robinson in Hattiesburg, Miss. She graduated from Eatonville, Miss., High School and was valedictorian of her class. She also graduated from Clark Memorial Baptist College in Newton, Miss. On Aug. 15, 1947, she married Ambers Reed, Jr. On March 15, 1975, she married Cleason Leroy Sinclair at Raton, N.M. He survives. A long-time resident of Garden City and Sublette, she worked for Kansas Plastics and Gifford Hill Irrigation followed by five years at Jesse Scott Realtors and 20 years at Kemper Electric in Garden City. After moving to Sublette, she worked at McCoy Grain with her husband until they retired. They moved to Wichita in 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Hazel McFerrin of Hobbs, N.M., Pauline Sellers of Hattiesburg, Miss., Dorothy Evans Johnson of Oak Grove, Miss., Lavondell Woltman of Florence, Colo.; and daughter Junette Falke of Sublette. In addition to her husband, Cleason Sinclair; other survivors include her brother, William Robinson and wife Maxine of Hattiesburg, Miss.; son Charles Reed and wife Paula of San Jose, Calif.; daughter Sandy Ingle and husband Bob of Saratoga, Calif.; son-in-law Don Falke of Cimarron, stepson Ron Sinclair and wife Deborah of Wichita; grandsons Cory Falke of Parsons, and Alex Reed of Washington, D.C., step-grandson, Scott Sinclair of Austin, Tex.; granddaughters April Falke of Pratt, Julia Valdez of Saratoga, Calif., and Kim Campbell of Monument, Colo., step-granddaughter, Megan Osmundsen of Fairway; three great-granddaughters, and seven great-grandsons. Estelle’s hobbies were crocheting, sewing, taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and bowling. She bowled in 20 national tournaments, winning the Seniors National Tournament in 1984 in Reno, Nev. She bowled in 45 state tournaments and served on the board of the Kansas Women’s Bowling Association (KWBA) for 15 years. She was a member of the Women’s International Bowling Congress, KWBA, Garden City Bowling Association and Haskell County Bowling Association. She was a member of the Sublette United Methodist Church, the Pride of Life Seniors Center in Sublette and the Eagles Lodge in Garden City. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, April 24, at Fairmount Cemetery, just SW of Jetmore, KS on US-283. If you desire, the family suggests contributions in Estelle’s memory to Pride of Life, 105 E.
