Marilyn Grace (Bailey) North, daughter of Alfred and Alta Bailey, was born in Quinter, Kansas on July 24, 1937. She went to see her Lord on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the age of 82 years and 2 months. Marilyn was baptized at Yoken Creek in Yoken, Arkansas. Always a devout Baptist, Marilyn, was a member of the Baptist Church in Severy, Kansas and could always find a church she believed in regardless of where she resided. Marilyn was united in Marriage on June 21, 1965 to Walter S. North. They were married at Maple Baptist Church and later moved to Severy, Kansas.
Over the next few years they had a son (Kenlem) and two daughters (Desirie and Demia). In 1992, Marilyn adopted Desirie’s daughter April. Marilyn graduated in 1956 from East High in Wichita, Kansas. Following her graduation, she attended Beauty School and worked for Dillon’s. Marilyn owned a Milking Farm where she raised cattle, and was the owner/operator of the Ponderosa Steak House and Motel located in Severy, Kansas. In 1993, Marilyn retired from Copeland/Emerson in Wichita, Kansas and relocated to Berryville, Arkansas, where she resided until 2014.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her Parents Alfred and Alta Bailey, Ex-Husband Walter S. North, and Daughter Desirie North. Marilyn is survived by her Son Kenelm North, Daughters Demia (Faustino) Martinez and April (Shaun) Helmlinger, Sisters Laura Swofford and Loene (Ed) Cline, Grandchildren (Melissa Hischke, Shawn North, Jordan North, and Kensey North), Great-Grandchildren (Elaina Coca, Julion Hischke, Lillian North, Cassius Campbell, and Wyatt Foster), and her Beloved Companions Toby and George.
