Linda Strandberg, 76, of Derby, passed away January 11, 2019, with her family by her side.
She was born to the late Gene and Rebecca Charles on January 12, 1942, in Wichita, KS. Linda graduated from North High School in 1960.
Linda is survived by her husband of twenty-one years, James Strandberg, her sister, Sue Bernhardt, of Wichita; along with two children: Tammi McCaulley Perry (Randy), of Wichita; Michael “Mick” McCaulley (Rebecca), of Wichita; and five stepchildren: Jesse Strandberg (Angie) of Granville, ND; Jon Strandberg of Great Bend; Crystal Doty (Brandon), of Independence, MO; Melissa Allen, of Lawrence; Shawna Case (Charles), of Manhattan; She is also survived by five grandchildren: Jesse Perry, Stacy Perry, Maggie Perry, Ross McCaulley and Conner McCaulley, all of Wichita; She is survived by 15 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Charles.
Linda was an accomplished florist, she owned and operated Paradise Designs in Wichita for many years, along with A Floral Center in Council Grove. She enjoyed dancing in her younger years and loved to give parties for her friends and family. She enjoyed spending time with her parents at Council Grove City Lake on Weekends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 6:00pm at Broadway Mortuary. Funeral services will take place at 11:00am at Woodland Lakes Community Church with burial to following at Hillcrest Cemetery in Derby, KS. Linda requested that people make donations in support of the Down Syndrome Society of Wichita, in lieu of sending flowers.
