Linda Michlitsch

October 15, 1947 — December 5, 2019

Linda Lea Michlitsch, daughter of Charles Earl and Wanda Lea Hackney of Valley Center was born on October 15, 1947, in Alva, Oklahoma. She passed away at Wichita St. Francis Hospital on the 5th day of December at the age of 72 years old. She graduated from Valley Center High School with the Class of 1965. Linda was married to Robert George Michlitsch on September 28, 1973 at her parents’ house in Valley Center, KS. They had three children: John Michlitsch, Craig Michlitsch, and Tammy (Michlitsch) Weber. She got her cosmetology license, worked as a Beautician for 17 years and owned a Ceramic Shop in Wichita, KS. They lived in Wichita until 1986 then moved to Colwich, KS where they currently reside. Linda was the current Historian and Education/Scholarship Chairman for the American Legion Auxiliary, 5th District. She has been a member since 1999. In 2006 & 2011, she was the President of Unit 4 Thomas Hopkins of Wichita. She was also a member of the Little Arkansas Chapter of the DAR. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Earl and Wanda Hackney; brothers, Gayland and Leslie Hackney; and son Craig Alan Michlitsch. Linda is survived by her husband, Robert Michlitsch; daughter, Tammy Weber (David); son, John Michlitsch; brother, Charles Eugene Hackney. Four grandchildren, Amanda Weber, Ashlie Weber, Michael Michlitsch, Rachel Michlitsch. A number of other relatives and friends. She will be deeply missed and we will be completely lost without her. She was full of Life! She was kind and generous, loved helping the veterans and supporting the Freedom Riders. In her pastime, she loved camping, fishing, the outdoors, rodeos, flowers, hummingbirds, and butterflies. She was a talented Ceramic Painter and Beautician. She adored family and always kept us connected! Funeral Service is Wednesday, Dec. 11th, at 10:00 a.m, Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67211. She will be laid to rest at Maize Park Cemetery, 13439 W. 53rd St. N., Maize, KS 67101.
