Lee Staley, a man of dedication and courage, passed away on November 7, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas. Born on March 28, 1950, in Watertown, New York, Lee lived a life marked by service, family, and a passion for the natural world.
A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Lee retired with honor after many years of dedicated service. His military career laid the foundation for a subsequent role within the NAF Marine Corps Community Services, where he supported his fellow servicemen and women. Lee's commitment to his country and community reflected the virtues instilled in him during his time in the Corps.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Lee cultivated numerous hobbies that brought him joy. He found great joy in fishing, transformed his living space through gardening, and demonstrated great care and artistry in the practice of Bonsai. These interests showcased not only his appreciation for nature but also his patience and artistic spirit.
Lee is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Staley, as well as son and daughter-in-law, Lee, Jr. and Angela Staley. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Kassi Duncan and William Staley, who were a source of immense pride and joy throughout his life. He is also survived by his brother, Greg Staley, several in-laws, nieces and nephews, and a great-nephew.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Annette Staley, along with his brothers, Douglas Staley and James "Ace" Staley.
A memorial service to honor Lee’s life will be held on November 16, 2024, at Cozine Memorial Group - Broadway Mortuary, located at 1147 S. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67211. The service will begin at 10:00 AM.
