Larry D. Schneider

Larry Don Schneider, 81, passed away in the early morning of May 6, 2024. Larry was

born to Barney and Hannah Schneider on February 25, 1943 in Clinton, OK. He grew

up on a farm and loved raising pigs and plowing and harvesting fields. While attending

Southwestern Oklahoma State University he met the love of his life, Shirley Switzer.

Together they had 5 children, Karri, Kevin, Kyle, Katrice (in memoriam), and Kendra.

Over many years, Larry worked as a Weights Engineer at Boeing and Cessna in Wichita

and Seattle, WA. He remodeled and flipped property before it became popular to do so

and was a Realtor, Insurance Agent, Appraiser, City Inspector and House Builder. His

final career years were spent as a contract engineer in Smyrna, GA, Savannah, GA,

Detroit, MI, Columbus, OH and Baltimore, MD, which gave Larry and Shirley incredible

opportunities to see and experience life all over the US. They attended Open Bible

Mennonite Brethren Church and were long-time members of Wichita First Church of the

Nazarene.

After retirement, Larry and Shirley settled back in Wichita where they enjoyed their quiet

home, watching backyard wildlife and birds, and enjoyed spending time with their

children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nadyne Schmidt; and infant daughter,

Katrice.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife, Shirley; children, Karri (Scott) Johnson of Wichita,

Kevin (Linda) Schneider of Wichita, Kyle (Heather) Schneider of Columbus, OH and

Kendra (Marc) Pense of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Shaeli) Johnson of

Wichita, Katy (Philips) Johnson of Nashville, TN, Lauran Schneider of Dallas, TX,

Brandon, Alexandria and Addison Schneider of Columbus, OH, Brett Pense and Jill

Pense, both of Edmond, OK; and 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Fred (Almeta) of

Weatherford, OK; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
