Larry passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Larry was born in Wichita and never moved from the area; he touched many lives and will be sorely missed.
Larry officially retired March 29, as a Custom Flooring Specialist. He was owner and operator of Hansen Enterprises, he was an artist, dedicated to perfection in his craft, which can be seen in homes and businesses throughout South Central Kansas, Oklahoma, and Mendon Utah.
Larry enjoyed a passion for automobiles. He collected and restored many during his life. His automobile of choice was Pontiac’s. He was a member of the Pontiac Oakland Club International for over 30 years. Larry and Alvena had just returned from the 46th Annual POCI Convention in Wisconsin Dells. He had a great time seeing old friends and gathering items for his many projects.
Larry also enjoyed collecting miniature trains and towns. He would travel throughout the area to train shows collecting engines, cars, accessories and tracks.
A Celebration of his life will be held this Friday, July 13th from 3 - 7 pm, Come visit and share stories, snacks and donuts at the REALTORS Association of South Central Kansas, 170 W. Dewey, Wichita, KS.
He was preceded in death by parents, Bennie Hansen and Bernadine Warner. Survivors include beloved wife, Alvena Hansen; sons, Robert (Dawn) Hansen, Tommy Hansen and Ben Lyon; daughter, Christina Tippett; sister, Bonnie Jacobs; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and there are numerous family members and many, many friends.
