Larry Hamm

Hamm, Larry Dean, 62. Born November 14, 1958 to Earl and Madeline Hamm in Wichita, Kansas. He grew up and graduated as part of the class of 1976 from West High School. Larry went on to fulfill his life-long dream of becoming a United States Marine when he enlisted in active duty February of 1977. He would go on to marry the love of his life, Susie Kerr, May of 1981. They were happily married until her unfortunate passing in 2008. Together they would welcome and raise three beautiful children. After an honorable discharge in 1988, he would move his family home where he followed his father’s footsteps to go to work at Kice Industries and later retiring from being an aircraft mechanic in 2018. In 2012, Larry remarried, subsequently caring for and suffering the loss of his second wife, Sheila Cubbage in 2019. Larry is survived by his son Curtis (Alex Johnson) Hamm; daughters, Christina Hamm, Anita (Jason) Poovey; siblings, Linda Glenn, Gail (Gina) Hamm, Kenneth Hamm, Gary (Gina) Hamm; grandchildren, Logan and Mackenzie. He is preceded in death by his wives, Susie Hamm and Sheila Hamm; parents, Earl and Madeline Hamm; brother-in-law Max Glenn; and sister, Joyce Hamm. Visitation will be Thursday, August 26th from 6 to 8 pm at Broadway Mortuary (1147 S. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67211). Funeral services will be Friday, August 27th at 2pm at Antioch Christian Church (3741 W. 15th St. N, Wichita, KS 67203). Memorials have been established with The American Red Cross and Kansas Humane Society.
