Laraine Myers

February 26, 1948 — March 21, 2018

Laraine Rosemary (Taylor) Myers, age 70, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, surrounded by her family at Harry Hynes hospice, Wichita, Kansas. She has been reunited with her infant daughter Meggan Renee Myers and her husband Rev. Robert S. Myers. Laraine was born to Marjorie (Lilly) and Harold Taylor on February 26, 1948 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was a graduate of Lafayette High School, earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Missouri Western State University, and a master’s degree in special reading at Southern Nazarene University. She began her teaching career at Riley Elementary School, Great Bend, Kansas. Laraine truly lived life to the fullest. She cherished her kids, grandkids, and traveling with her fiancé, Thurman (Bud) Hummel Jr. Laraine shared so many ideas, talents, and love with everyone she met. Her many enjoyable hobbies were reading, knitting, photography, and genealogy. She was quite the history buff. She was a devoted wife, loyal companion, and a caring sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Meggan Renee Myers in 1971, her husband Rev. Robert S. Myers in 1979, and grandparents. She is survived by her children; Maureen (Chris) Koeppel, Washington, Matthew (Ferrin) Myers, Oklahoma; Marjorie Myers, Oklahoma; grandchildren Sarah, Elizabeth, Rebekah, Amelia, Adelaide, Molly; fiance, Thurman (Bud) Hummel Jr., Kansas, sisters Christine (Frank) Dewey, Oklahoma, Nina (Ed) Trusty, Kansas, several cousins, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at West Side Church of the Nazarene, 2300 S. Seneca, Wichita, Kansas 67213 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be at the Agency Cemetery, Agency, Missouri at a later date. Share condolences at www.CozineMemorial.com. Services by Broadway Mortuary.
