Kerry Potter

  • Kerry Potter, aged 68, of Wichita, KS, passed away on March 17, 2025, at St.

Francis Hospital. Born on May 24, 1956, in Anthony, Kansas, Kerry was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend whose presence brought joy and laughter to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A proud graduate of Haven High School in the class of 1974, Kerry dedicated 17 years to working at Tweco Products as an operator and then spent another 14 years as a cameraman for Kake News. It was during his time at Tweco that he met Patricia Williams, a friendship that blossomed into a beautiful romance. They were married on October 24, 1992, in a heartfelt ceremony at Patricia's mother’s home, officiated by her uncle, Mark Foster. Together, they created a loving home filled with faith and devotion to the Lord throughout their lives.

Kerry leaves behind his beloved wife, Patricia Potter (Williams), and daughters, Faith Potter, Hope Flask (Tim Flask), and Charity Chastain (Joshua Chastain). He was blessed with eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and he will be deeply missed by his nieces, Tawn Rockwell (Scott Rockwell) and Jenny Potter, as well as his nephew, Grant Potter (Kelly Potter). He is now reunited in peace with his parents, Perry L. Potter and Shirley B. Potter (Trickett), and his brother, Perry L. Potter.

Kerry’s passion for music was a testament to his character. He expertly played bass in various bands and dedicated 32 years to the orchestra at Central Community Church, using his talents to worship and uplift the community. Outside of music, he loved riding motorcycles and had a remarkable ability to make others laugh. Kerry’s legacy of kindness and joy will forever be etched in the hearts of those he touched, ensuring that his spirit lives on in the memories of family and friends.

A heartfelt memorial service will take place on March 26 at the Central Community Church, located at 6100 W. Maple St. in the serene chapel. The service will begin promptly at 10 am, where friends and family will gather to honor and celebrate the life of Kerry, with a reception to follow.

Rest in peace, Kerry. Your presence in our lives will be deeply missed.
