Kenneth (Ken) Edward Darrow, 62, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017, in Wichita, KS, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fannie and John (Johnny) Darrow, and two sisters, Barbara Darrow-Nelson and Dorothy Darrow-Jordan. He is survived by his wife Hazel (Britton Wessels) Darrow, Wichita, KS; son Philip Darrow (Angela,) Omaha, NE; son Nathan Darrow, Dallas, TX; and their mother Pam Johnson, Colorado Springs, CO. His surviving siblings are John Darrow (Zora), Denver, CO; David Darrow (Karen), Tulsa, OK; Elizabeth Darrow-Eslami (Ahmed Reza), Gaithersburg, MD; and Chris Darrow (Marcia), Choctaw OK. He is also survived by stepchildren Dawn Wessels-Walker (David), Mulvane, KS; Sarah Wessels-Aaron (Jason), Wichita, KS; and Scott Wessels (Catherine), Houston, TX. He has six grandchildren: Zak Aaron; Jaina, Jacen and Caden Darrow; and Abbigale and Jackson Walker.
Ken was born in Colorado Springs, CO, and spent his younger years in Florence, CO. He and his brother, David, owned D and D Maintenance in Wichita, KS, for many years until he received his realtor license and became a property manager for Trammell Crow. Most recently he was a Senior Property Manager for Landmark Commercial Real Estate, managing 29 commercial properties in the Wichita area.
Ken was an active congregational member at the NewSpring Church in Wichita, KS. He enjoyed volunteering in NewSpring's KidzWorld and guiding several Divorce Care groups.
Funeral Service will be held at NewSpring Church, 12200 East 21st Street N. in Wichita, KS, on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Family visitation is scheduled for Monday, September 18, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Broadway Mortuary 1147 S Broadway.
