Karen Crow

Karen Crow

  • Karen Gwen (Bergschneider) Crow, age 84, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2024. She was born on June 25, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Oliver Bergschneider and Zola (Barksdale) Bergschneider.

  • Karen grew up in Levasy, Missouri and graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1958. She attended Central Missouri State College, but needed to leave school and find a job due to financial needs. She held several interesting jobs, including executive assistant to the CEO of an oil and gas company, and she retired at 65.

  • Karen married Lonnie Allen Crow in February 1987, and they lived in various places throughout their marriage, including Alamo, Texas; Crystal River, Florida; Sun City West, Arizona; Holly Lake Ranch, Texas; Rockwall, Texas; Dallas Texas; and McAllen, Texas. They enjoyed finding and updating homes, traveling, and fishing together, and she was an avid reader. She moved to Wichita, Kansas, in 2021 to be closer to family. She loved her three years in Wichita, and she made many wonderful friends at Sedgwick Plaza.

  • Most importantly, Karen recently accepted Jesus as her personal Savior, and we rejoice because we know she is with Him today in paradise.

  • Karen is preceded in death by her father, Oliver Bergschneider, her mother, Zola Bergschneider, her husband, Lonnie Allen Crow, and her brother, Oliver Ronald “Ron” Bergschneider. She is survived by her son and his wife, Scott and Dawn Flucke (Wichita), her two granddaughters whom she always referred to as her “sweeties,” Brooke and Brenna Flucke (both of Wichita), and her sister-in-law, Judy Walker (Houston, Texas).

  • Grant, O Lord, to all who are bereaved the spirit of faith and courage, that they may have strength to meet the days to come with steadfastness and patience; not sorrowing as those without hope, but in thankful remembrance of your great goodness, and in the joyful expectation of eternal life with those they love. And this we ask in the Name of Jesus Christ our Savior.

  • Amen. Book of Common Prayer.
