Joyce Jean Henderson, 82, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
Joyce was a delight to be around and impossible not to love. Her big brown eyes sparkled with life and her sweet smile had a way of being both meek and mischievous at the same time. She had many hardships throughout her life, but never let it make her hard. She was strong and smart and always found a way to persevere--to make it work--all while keeping a positive outlook and warm heart. She was a wonderful story teller, and anyone who knew her can attest that she had some real doozies when it came to stories! She'd talk about how feisty she was in her youth, and she maintained much of that same feisty spirit all the way through to the end. She prided herself on "telling it like it is" and standing up for what's right. She would do just about anything for the people she cared about. With a widespread circle family and friends, it seemed like her phone never stopped ringing, from people calling to check in and catch up. She loved hearing from everyone and keeping up with their lives. She would spend hours each day talking with loved ones, especially her daughters and grandson's, as well as countless others. There was never any doubt how much she genuinely cared about those around her. Above all, she had a zeal and a love for Jesus, which permeated every aspect of her life.
