Joyce Drydale

Drydale (Swymeler), Joyce E., 70, went to be with her Lord and Savior March 31, 2016. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday at Broadway Mortuary with Funeral Service 1:30 pm, Tuesday at Midway Baptist Church with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Joyce was born Sept. 22, 1945 in St. Joseph, MO to Clinton and Ruth Swymeler. Raised in rural Andrew County, MO, she married Loyd Drydale in Nov. 1963 and moved to Wichita, KS in 1971. While an employee of USD 259, she attended Friends University and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree. Joyce retired from the school system where she worked her final years at WATC. She was a very active member of Midway Baptist church as a Sunday School teacher, a VBS helper, and serving on various committees. She was especially dedicated to the Kids Pointe Ministries. She was preceded in death by her parents. Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Loyd Drydale; children, Doug (Alicia) Drydale of Wichita, Amy (David) Lewis of Marysville, WA; siblings, Ronald (Becky) Swymeler of Woodburn, IN, Rodney (Kathryn) Swymeler of St. Joseph, MO, Gaynell (Harold) Waggoner of Franklin, IN; grandchildren, Jeff Drydale, Marissa (Brett) Wilmot, Justin (Erin) Lewis, Lindsay (Matthew) Brown, and Clint Lewis; great-grandson, Lucas Wilmot; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce will be remembered as a shining example of Christ’s love. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Kids Pointe Ministries, c/o Midway Baptist Church.
