Jonathan Opliger

Opliger, Jonathan M. , 54, beloved father, brother and friend passed on to his eternal home on May 30, 2018. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, June 11, at GracePoint Church, 9035 W. Central. Jon was born on May 25, 1964 in Kingman, Kansas to Mark and Shirley Opliger. He graduated from Wichita North High School in 1982.  Following high school, he played baseball on a scholarship at Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kansas and earned an Associate degree.  He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at Wichita State University and a Master’s degree in Management at Colorado University.  Jon’s hobbies were sports.  He played baseball, basketball, football and golf. His passion was playing music in a band. He played both the guitar and drums. He will be missed. Jon is survived by his son, Dane Opliger of Lawrence, KS; daughter, Paige Opliger of Lawrence, KS; brothers, Rod (Susan) Opliger of Wichita and Randy (Kim) Opliger of Lenexa, KS; sister, Jackie Whitney of Wichita; and children’s mother, Kathleen (Mel) Lorg of Wichita.
