John Turner

Turner, John, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2016 at the age of 94. John loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and lived his life in accordance with Christ’s teachings. He loved his church and his family. He was always quick with a joke or a humorous story, and always a tease. He taught industrial arts at Wichita East High from 1955 to 1984. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Billie; his parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his sister, Mary Chase of Lawrence Kansas, children: Johnese (Ken) Burtram of Warrenton, VA, Jeffrey (Rhonda) Turner of Wichita, Janna (Mark) Ford of Akron, OH, and Jim (Ruth) Turner of Marshfield, WI, 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will take place at 12:30 pm, Monday, March 14th, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm, both at Broadway Mortuary Chapel, 1147 S. Broadway, Wichita.
