Jimmie Ray Wood, 86, proud 20 year U.S. Marine Corps retired 1st Sgt. and Jim's Cabinet Shop owner, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett Wood and Phoebe Ruth Mills; brother, Gerald Wood; sister, Anna Jean Owens; grandson, Brandon Neal Bentley; and son-in-law, Kenneth Knoblauch. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Freda Wood; children, Sherry Hansberry (Bruce), Dianna Knoblauch, and Joanna Whitaker (Douglas); extended family, Stacey Coronado, Frank Molnar family; nine grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of good friends he dearly loved. Visitation with family present will be held from 5-8 pm, Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway. Celebration of Life Service, 1 pm, Thursday, Jan. 28, at West Side Church of God, 1900 W. McCormick. (In honor of Jim, please wear a mask.)
