Jeffrey Rod Hoag, 35, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021. Visitation in Wichita, Thursday, April 29, 6:00-8:00pm at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Funeral service Friday, April 30, 10:00am at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by grandfathers, Eugene Hoag, and Richard Barnthouse and mother-in-law, Vivin "Tutti" Tatum. Survivors include loving wife, Stephanie Hoag; son, Owen Hoag; daughter, Elliot Hoag; parents, Rod and Tammy Hoag; sister, Tanya (Justin) Boyd- Emerson and Everly; grandmothers, Sally Hoag, and Joanna Barnthouse. Father-in-law, Philip (Bobbie) Tatum (Halle); Brother-in-laws, Eric (Sandra) Tatum- Brayden and Jeter, Ryan (Rachelle) Tatum- Braden and Peyton. A memorial has been established with Victory in the Valley.
A native of Arkansas City, Kansas, Jeff received numerous academic and athletic accolades in high school, including the United State Achievement Academy’s Academic All-American and the United States Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete Award while competing on the football field.
Established as one of Kansas’ best defensive backs, he earned a full ride scholarship to Butler County Community College while successfully completing his associates degree with academic honors. Upon graduation he finished his academic and football career at Emporia State University while graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and received the 2008 Capital Federal Savings Scholars award as a senior.
In 2009, Jeff completed his CPA license and began his career with Grant Thornton while later transitioning to Koch Ag and Energy Services in 2014 where he would finish his career.
Amongst all these accomplishments, his greatest were his wife of 10 years and his two beautiful children, Owen and Elliot and his love in Jesus Christ. Jeff took great pride in his role as a husband, father and coach of 316 Elite and Andover youth football.
