Jim Moore

James "Jim" Moore passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at the age of 81. Jim was born in El Dorado, Kansas on February 15, 1941 to parents, James and Doris Moore. After graduating from high school, Jim attended the University of Kansas where he completed an engineering degree. While at KU, Jim served in the ROTC program. Upon graduating, Jim worked as a mechanical engineer at Cessna in Wichita. During the early part of his career Jim put his career on pause and served in the US Army in Vietnam. Upon returning to the United States Jim resumed his career at Cessna. His interest in aviation didn't stop with his job, as Jim also became a pilot himself.

Outside of work Jim loved hunting, fishing, watching KU sports, and skiing. He specifically loved skiing at his retreat in Winter Park, Colorado. Jim was also a proud member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Wichita.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James and Doris Moore. He is survived by son, Bret Moore of Pasadena, California; daughter, Jill Moore of Torrance, California; sister, Diane Mathews of Wichita, Kansas; and 2 grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating Jim's life will be held 10:00am, on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Heartland Community Church.
