Baumann, Herman Lee, 74, retired U.S. Navy 1960 – 1980 and retired USD 259 Security officer 1981 – 2001, born January 23, 1941, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016. While in the Navy he crossed the equator Jan. 31, 1970 on the USS Midway CVA-41 and Aug. 7, 1971 on the USS Dixon AS-37. Memorial services will be 1:00pm, Saturday Jan. 23 at the American Legion, Newton, KS. Preceded in death by parents, John and Frances Baumann and brother, Christopher, survivors include daughters, Dana (Larry) Paxson, Darla Tucker and Stacie (Don) Marquis; brothers, David and Bradley Baumann and grandchildren, Trenton, Brett and Alyssa Tucker, Kayla and Kaylee Shannon and McKenna Marquis.
