Henry McQuilliams

Henry Roosevelt “Hank” McQuilliams, passed from this life to the next, November 16, 2017. He was the seventh of 11 children, born to Arthur Sylvester and Willie Ethel (Durham) McQuilliams on September 2, 1933 in Greenfield, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Carl A. V. “Dutch”, Vernon Coy “Skeets”, Alvin Gaytha “Jack”, Kenneth Athur, and Lonnie Eugene; sisters, Wanda Mary Lee “Toni”, Waneeda Lorene “Jinx”, and Emma Ladonna; and by his son, Carl Shannon. He is survived by his 3 sons, Danny Roosevelt, Tommy Lee and wife Janet, Steven Ray; 1 daughter, Constance Shannon; grandsons, Shaun, Justin, Miles, and Tyler; granddaughters, Rebecca and Sheena; great-grandsons, Landon, Jayden, Avery, Esten, Silas, and Preston; great-granddaughters, McKenna, Ally, Peyton, and Aimee; brother, Olan Larry of Wichita and sister, Alma Lillian of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. Hank served his country in the United States Air Force from December of 1951 thru December of 1955. He spent his working years in a variety of aircraft related jobs. He worked for several companies and retired from Raytheon in 1998. After retirement he enjoyed repairing and reselling lawn mowers and drinking coffee at local cafes. Many thanks to the staff at Homestead Health Center in Wichita, KS, where Hank resided the past few years, for taking good care of him. A special thank you to Wanda Webb of Altus, OK who faithfully sent him cards to brighten his days the past 3 yrs. Memorials have been established with Home Health and Hospice of Kansas and Immanuel Baptist Church in Wichita, KS. Graveside service will be held at 1 o’clock Monday, November 20, 2017 at Greenwood Cemetery, located at 47th and Hoover Rd., Wichita, KS.
