Farha, Henry "Hank" S. Jr., 87 passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 at his home in Wichita, KS. Hank was a retired investment broker with nearly 50 years in the business, the last 21 years spent with A.G. Edwards. He was born August 22, 1929 to Henry, Sr. and Saada (Zakoura) Farha in St. Louis, MO. Hank grew up in Wichita and graduated from Wichita High School East in 1947. In September 1947 he enrolled in Wichita University in the very first class of Air Force ROTC. In May 1951 he received his degree in Business Administration and a 2nd Lieutenant Commission in the Air Force Reserves. Shortly thereafter he was called into active duty in the USAF where he served for over 32 years (2 years active and 30 years in the reserves and Air National Guard). He retired from the Air Force Reserves with the rank of Colonel. Hank was an active member of St. George Orthodox Christian Church, Life Underwriters Assn., Reserve Officer's Assn., Military Officers Assn., Air Force Assn., and WSU Alumni Assn. One of his joys in life was being an avid fan of practically all WSU sports. He had season tickets for basketball, baseball and volleyball. He attended most all home games and many away games including the 2013 Final Four game in Atlanta, GA. In addition, Hank enjoyed NFL, MLB and NHL games including the Super Bowl, Pro Bowl and World Series hosted by his son, Marc. He proudly owned an extensive collection of ball caps, t-shirts, and sweatshirts. He is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Joyce A. (Abraham); daughter, Cheri L. Farha (Keith Johnston) of Middleton, WI and son, Marc A. Farha (Cindy) of Charlotte, NC. He loved spending time and playing golf with his two grandsons, Hayden Johnston ("my buddy") and Mercer Farha ("my little buddy"). His parents; brother, Col. Jimmie L. Farha Sr. and sister, Jeanette Farha Bayouth preceded him in death. Funeral Service and Trisagion will be held at St. George Orthodox Christian Church, 7515 E. 13th Street, Wichita, KS at 7:00 PM Monday, July 17. Burial with full military honors will be held at Old Mission Cemetery at 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 18.
