H. Wayne Foster

H.  Wayne Foster, a lifelong resident of Wichita, passed to his heavenly reward on September 11, 2023, at the age 87 years 4 days, following a 5 year-long battle with Mesothelioma.

Wayne was a man of strong faith, avid golfer, and wine afficionado.  He was committed to his community and served in numerous roles over the years in Young Life, a men’s bible study that has been meeting for over 40 years, Men’s Golf Fellowship, National Prayer Breakfast, Wichita Winefest, AIWA, Bacchus, Wichita Wine Experience, Guadalupe Clinic, Wichita Crime Commission, Grumpy Old Men, Crestview Country Club, Wichita Area Board of Realtors, First Evangelical Free Church, Central Christian Church, Eastminster Presbyterian Church and Life Change Church.

His career started at International Cold Storage where he rose to Executive Vice President/COO during his 11 yr. tenure.  He began a career in Real Estate in 1975, first in Commercial at J.P. Weigand & Sons and then started H. Wayne Foster Realty where he brokered Commercial and Residential for over 40 yrs.

Wayne is survived by wife of 63 years, Glenda Foster, daughters, Cynthia DeBracy (Chris DeBracy) of Valley View, Texas and Dr. Chris Foster, Ph.D. (Todd Morss) of Wichita, adopted son, Ken Wu of Wichita, grandson, Ethan Foster of Wichita and sister, Katherine Ramirez of Wichita.  He was preceded in death by father, Chester W. Foster, mother, Margaret Bell Foster and sister, Patricia Andrews.

A visitation for friends and family will be held on Sunday, September 17 from 5:00-7:00 pm, at the Cozine Life Events Center, 11500 E. 21st St. N. The Celebration Service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, September 18, at LifeChange Church Wichita, 10225 E. Kellogg Dr. The service will be live streamed at: https://www.lifechangechurchwichita.com/livestream
