Griffin Cruise

March 25, 1997 — October 29, 2017

Cruise, Griffin “Griff”, 20, beloved daughter and sister, Barista at Starbucks, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m., Sunday, November 5, at Broadway Mortuary, and Celebration of Life will be 10 a.m., Monday, November 6, at Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include mother, Lois (Dennis) Gelonek; father, Michael Cruise; sister, Kansas (Josiah) Gunn; and numerous family members and dear friends. A memorial has been established with Agape Care Cradle Inc., P.O. Box 704, Wichita, KS 67201. Griffin was a sinner saved by grace. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9. Griffin was a beautiful and struggling soul. She brought light everywhere she went. She lived some of the time in darkness, but even there, she brought light and grace and peace. Griff made everyone feel like they were important to her. She easily could make people laugh because she was so goofy. Her own laughter, with snort, was contagious! She seemed to have a great appreciation for everything and always had a smile on her face that would light up a room. People that met her only once sensed her to have a big heart. She was kind and understanding, was a good listener, cared for others by helping and supporting them, showed up for them, spent all night in the hospital with a friend…these things Griffin did naturally. She shed light in other people’s moments of darkness. We love you Griffin!! We miss you Griffin!!
