Galen Nelson

Galen L. Nelson, 74, passed away Jan. 14, 2016. Galen lived his first 14 yrs of his life in Arkansas City, then moved to Wichita until he joined the Air Force in 1959. He returned to Wichita and worked 34 years as a Teamster with Local 795 while employed by Graves and ANR Freight. After retirement, he taught Heavy Truck School at WATC and part time with the Red Cross Chapter. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Metcalf and Nelson, his father, Roy Nelson and mother, Doris Pennick. He is survived by his wife of 47yrs, Eva Nelson; daughters, Kristi (Damon) Ward and DeAnn (Jeff) Ricketts; grandson, Ethan Ward; brother, Raymond (Cindy) Mefford; aunt, Geri (Don) Parry.
